Workforce Council Meeting

Workforce Council has been on the back burner for the past six months as companies and the Chamber were focused on crisis management. We look forward to starting back in August via Zoom virtual meetings!
 
The August 12 meeting will feature Alamance Community College and their Work Based Learning programs. They have hired a new Work-Based Learning Coordinator, James Carter, who will present along with Bettina Akukwe, Apprenticeship Coordinator, and Justin Snyder, Dean of Industrial Technologies. A quality, skilled talent pipeline is still going to be an issue for long term success. The goal of this program is to give students some hands-on experience to further their classroom experience and be better future employees.
 
We will also have a brief highlight from Family Forward NC which is offering training and support to companies for new challenges raised by the Coronavirus, and how companies can address a culture of safety within their workplaces.
